In my sixties I began looking for books that featured “older” women, those less focused on careers or young children, but still seeking meaning and connection in their lives.
Now having turned 75, I decided to focus more on sharing those books, both fiction and non-fiction, that have spoken to the many aspects of maturing with meaning. My family and friends have urged me to share these suggestions with a wider audience.
This blog will reflect that interest in older women and literature, though not always on older women in literature: there are many books that do not specifically address older women, but that can give us much to think about relationships, life events, and different ways of looking at and understanding the world.

Special thanks to my husband and IT person, Cary Cherniss, who has inspired and supported me for over 55 years. This blog, and much of everything else I cherish, would not exist without him.
